A Night Full of Stories, Puzzles and Magic at GISA!
Because last year’s event was such a great success, we are taking it one step further this school year:
On Friday, 20 November 2026, we will combine the Long Night of Mathematics with Germany’s National Reading Aloud Day for a shared evening full of discovery – and, above all, full of stories!
When the doors open at 5:00 p.m., a journey into fantastic worlds will begin. In our Fairytale Cave, stories full of magic, spells and enchanted castles will be waiting. We will listen to exciting adventures and set off on journeys of discovery through Africa. Our dads will also become storytellers, sharing their favourite stories with both young and older listeners.
Anyone who enjoys reading aloud is warmly invited to sign up for one of the different reading stations. We will send out the sign-up schedule shortly. Bring your favourite book and read from it – or present it on our small reading stage!
In this way, the reading evening will become a special experience where stories bring people together, inspire the imagination and put the joy of listening at the centre.
You do not yet have a suitable book? No problem! Denise Schoechert will be happy to help you find an appropriate story for your reading contribution. Simply contact her by email at
And anyone who feels like taking on some tricky challenges afterwards – or in between – can put their skills to the test during the Long Night of Mathematics: Sign up with your maths teacher as a team of 2 or 4 students plus one adult/parent and get started. Together, you will solve puzzles, calculate and work through challenging problems – competing in a worldwide competition with schools in Germany and many other countries.
Whether you are a story lover, a puzzle enthusiast or both: on this evening, imagination and brainpower come together! Parents are expressly welcome, because reading, listening and solving puzzles together is even more fun.
