GISA at the British Council Partner Schools Awards Ceremony 2026
On Friday, 26 June 2026, the German International School Accra (GISA) participated in the British Council Partner Schools Awards Ceremony 2026 in Accra. The event brought together Cambridge Partner Schools from across Ghana and provided an excellent opportunity for professional exchange, networking, and discussions about the continued development of international education.
GISA was represented by our Cambridge Coordinator, Clemencia Mayoga. Throughout the evening, she engaged with colleagues from other partner schools, exchanging best practices, discussing the ongoing development of Cambridge programmes, and exploring opportunities for future collaboration.
The ceremony also celebrated outstanding achievements in Cambridge qualifications while providing valuable information about international study pathways, scholarship opportunities, and future developments within the Cambridge education framework.
For GISA, attending the event was also a recognition of the excellent work of our Cambridge Department. Since the introduction of Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary, the programme has grown steadily and become an integral part of our educational offering. Clemencia Mayoga has played a key role in this success, leading the programme with great dedication and ensuring that it continues to meet the high standards expected of Cambridge Partner Schools.
We are especially proud of the excellent results achieved in our first Cambridge Checkpoint Assessments, which demonstrate that our students are performing at a very high level and that the programme has been successfully established at GISA.
At the same time, our educational philosophy remains unchanged: the German curriculum continues to form the foundation of learning at GISA. The Cambridge programme complements this foundation by providing additional international perspectives, strengthening English-language proficiency and competency-based learning, while broadening opportunities for students in an increasingly global educational environment.
The Cambridge Pathway presented during the event illustrates this progressive learning journey—from Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary through to internationally recognised Cambridge qualifications. At GISA, we view this pathway as a valuable complement to our German curriculum, offering our students additional opportunities without changing the core of our educational mission.
Our participation in the British Council Partner Schools Awards Ceremony once again highlights GISA's commitment to combining the strengths of the German education system with carefully selected international programmes, preparing our students to thrive in a globally connected world.
