In Search of Poetry

In the German Club, a slightly different kind of German-as-a-Foreign-Language lesson for our Grade 9 learners, we also explore the beauty of words. Under the motto “Everything That Matters”, we collected words and reflected together on what is truly important to us.

When reading our words aloud at the end, we discovered how much the right emphasis and the order of words can change their effect. Is that already poetry?

In any case, it was a first step on the way to creating our own contribution for the Goethe-Institut Accra Cultural Festival in November 2026. Together, we will continue experimenting with language, words and their meanings, and we are excited to see what emerges.
