Photography Competition at the German International School Accra – Join In!
The German International School Accra will be taking part in the photography competition organised by the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (ZfA) this year. At the same time, we are collecting creative ideas for the cover of our upcoming yearbook.
To do this, we will run a small internal school photography series with three different themes over the coming weeks. Students and teachers are warmly invited to participate.
Theme 1: Interact with Our School Murals
The first theme of the competition is:
“Interact with our school murals.”
Around the GISA campus you can find many colourful murals – animals, plants, and scenes inspired by Ghana and the wider world. Your task is to creatively interact with these paintings and turn them into a unique photograph.
Let your imagination guide you: perhaps you appear to speak to an animal from the mural, reach for a painted flower, or become part of the scene yourself.
How to Participate
- Take your photo using the school iPads.
- Try to capture a creative perspective and an interesting interaction with the mural.
- Submit your photo by 10 March 2026.
Some of the first example photos were already taken spontaneously during project time, showing just how much creativity and fun can emerge from these moments.
More Themes Coming Soon
Two additional photography themes will follow in the coming weeks. These small competitions are meant to encourage participation in the international ZfA photography competition and also help us collect ideas for the cover of our next yearbook.
Teachers are also warmly invited to share ideas or join in and take photos themselves.
