Summer Service under Palm Trees – The Protestant Congregation at the GISA Swiss Club
A special location, bright sunshine, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere: This year’s summer service of the Protestant Congregation of Accra took place for the first time at the Swiss Club of the German International School Accra (GISA) – and turned into a joyful celebration of community and connection.
Pastor Rafael Dreyer led a service rich in music and spiritual inspiration. Numerous congregational hymns and several solo performances added emotional depth to the worship. The reflections and impressions he shared from the recent German Protestant Church Congress in Hanover gave the gathering a thoughtful and contemporary focus.
After the service, everyone was invited to stay for a relaxed get-together with finger food, sweet and savory snacks, coffee, and refreshing drinks. The lush garden space, the laughter of children on the playground, conversations in multiple languages, and new and familiar faces made for a vibrant and inclusive afternoon.
The Protestant Congregation of Accra extends its heartfelt thanks to GISA for the generous hospitality and support. Special appreciation goes to the dedicated school team and the always helpful security staff, who helped make this special day possible.
