Working Together on School Development – Leadership Retreat

On Tuesday, 5 May, and Wednesday, 6 May 2026, part of the extended leadership team of the German International School Accra took part in a joint leadership retreat.

During intensive and constructive working sessions, the team focused on key school development goals and the concrete planning of the 2026/27 school year. Particular attention was given to the further development of language-sensitive teaching approaches, additional support and intervention opportunities for students, and measures aimed at maintaining and improving the overall quality of teaching and learning.

Another important focus was the continued strengthening of the attractiveness and profile of the secondary section. In addition, the retreat included discussions on practical implications for future timetabling and lesson planning in order to align pedagogical goals as effectively as possible with organisational structures and resources.

The German International School Accra views school development as an ongoing collaborative process. The retreat provided valuable space for reflection, professional exchange, and strategic planning, while generating important impulses for the future development of the school.
