Inspiring “Meet & Greet” Morning: Football, Community and a Living Training Philosophy at GISA

An energetic and inspiring morning full of passion and real football moments: At today’s “Meet & Greet” of the Gerald Asamoah Football Academy, around 60 children and young people came together from 10:00 to 12:30 – turning the pitch into a stage for talent, teamwork and pure joy of the game.

A special highlight right from the start: Wearing their royal blue jerseys featuring the portrait of Gerald Asamoah, the young players proudly stepped onto the field, ready to showcase their skills.

During short, dynamic training sessions, the academy’s philosophy became clearly visible in practice. At its core lies a powerful triad: joy, independent decision-making, and repetition. The children are not only learning techniques, but developing real game understanding – reading situations, making their own decisions, and building confidence step by step.

The sessions were highly game-oriented: plenty of ball touches, creative 1-on-1 situations, and focused work on dribbling and finishing. At the same time, the balance between “challenge and support” was evident – a child-centered, encouraging coaching style that promotes performance without losing sight of enjoyment.

As founder, Gerald Asamoah was visibly impressed – not only by the talent of the children, but also by the quality and consistency of the coaching approach.

The morning was also attended by distinguished guests, including German Ambassador Frederik Landshöft and Dr. Michael Blank, Head of the AHK Ghana, who both expressed their appreciation for the academy’s development, professionalism, and positive atmosphere.

A joyful highlight came at the end with a fun match: parents versus their children – full of laughter, energy and shared excitement, perfectly reflecting the strong community spirit of the academy.

Headmaster Rainer Kropp-Kurta expressed his sincere thanks to everyone involved for their outstanding commitment in taking this young academy to the next level – driven by passion, professionalism, and a clear, modern training philosophy.

And more highlights are just ahead: next week, Gerald Asamoah and Torsten Fröhling will attend all training sessions of the five teams, providing valuable input and guidance to both coaches and players.

A powerful example of how sustainable youth development can succeed – with joy, structure, and a clear vision for the future. ⚽
