Primary School Project Time: Happy Birthday!
What makes a perfect birthday celebration? What presents do we bring, which games are a must, and how are birthdays traditionally celebrated in Germany?
These were some of the questions our primary school students explored this week as part of their "German Celebrations" project. Together, they shared their own birthday experiences, talked about different traditions, and discovered some of the customs that make this special day so memorable.
Then it was time to get creative! Armed with colourful paper, scissors, glue, and plenty of imagination, the children designed and decorated their very own birthday cards. The result was a wonderful collection of little works of art, showing just how much joy there is in preparing a surprise for someone else.
And the best is yet to come! Next week, the children will put everything they have learned into practice as we celebrate a birthday together – complete with all the fun and excitement that goes with it. Traditional birthday party games, laughter, and happy moments are all part of the plan!
Through our project time, children not only enjoy arts, crafts, and games but also experience the German language and culture in a lively, hands-on way.
