Christmas Project: Creativity, Craftsmanship, and a Touch of Holiday Magic
This year’s project time at the German International School Accra (GISA) is filled with festive spirit – and with plenty of hands-on learning! Our students have been enthusiastically working on a special Christmas project: charming wooden reindeer that will be sold at the upcoming Christmas Market.
With great excitement, they have been painting, drilling, sanding, and assembling – each reindeer becoming a unique little masterpiece. A true highlight of the week was the visit to our neighbour, the local carpenter. The children were invited into his workshop, where they traced reindeer shapes, helped with first cuts, and smoothed the wooden pieces like real apprentices. This authentic encounter with craftsmanship not only sparked curiosity but also demonstrated beautifully how project time builds bridges between school and the real world.
Joyful teamwork, new skills, and hands-on exploration were at the heart of it all. Now the students can’t wait to proudly present their creations at the GISA Christmas Market on November 29th – and perhaps see a few happy new owners walk away with their handmade reindeer.
We are already looking forward to this special moment. Christmas is on the way! 🎄
