Class 7’s School Trip: A First Day Full of Adventure at Ko-Sa Beach

Finally, our school trip! Sleeping in was hardly an option for Class 7 this morning. The excitement had apparently woken us all earlier than usual. Shortly before 8 a.m., we were already at school with packed suitcases, big smiles and plenty of anticipation. Our luggage was safely stowed in the bus, and we would happily have set off straight away. But hang on … something was missing. Or rather: someone. In all our excitement, we had almost overlooked the fact that not everyone had arrived yet. So, first came waiting rather than departing.

After a slight delay, our bus finally set off towards Elmina. Just under four and a half hours later, we reached our destination, Ko-Sa Beach, right in time for lunch.

By then, our stomachs were rumbling. But anyone who thought we could simply settle into our rooms and look forward to a meal was in for a surprise. Our first challenge awaited us: letters were hidden all over the grounds, and we had to find them and put them together to form a welcome message. As our room allocation depended on it, we were particularly motivated. We searched every corner carefully, determined to solve the puzzle quickly and secure one of the nicest rooms.

Once we had solved the puzzle and moved into our rooms, it was finally time for a well-earned meal: spaghetti with beef sauce. After the long journey, lunch tasted especially good.

With our energy restored, we discussed the most important rules for living together and behaving responsibly on the grounds. Then there was no stopping us: back to our rooms, into our swimwear and off to the sea!

We spent plenty of time in the water together, swimming, diving, playing ball and making our first attempts at surfing on bodyboards. Not every attempt went according to plan, but there was certainly no shortage of fun. Afterwards, we enjoyed the warm sand and let the waves wash us onto the beach.

Anyone who thought we had had enough exercise was mistaken. Next came a small volleyball tournament, with three teams competing against one another. We passed, set, cheered and fought together for every point.

But our sports programme was far from over. After four and a half hours on the bus, we still had plenty of movement to catch up on. During several exciting and entertaining rounds of Capture the Flag, we chased one another across the grounds, defended our flags and tried out different strategies. Speed, teamwork and a good deal of skill were essential.

To cool down afterwards, some of us headed back into the sea. Others chose a rather special final lesson of the day: palm-tree climbing. Tree trunks replaced textbooks, and instead of a board, there were palm leaves high above our heads. A lesson we will certainly remember for a long time.

Eventually, though, we had to say goodbye to the beach. After a much-needed shower—we had collected quite a lot of sand by then—we met for dinner. This time, chicken baskets with fries were on the menu. Just the right meal after such an active day.

But the most exciting part of the evening was still to come.

The Mystery of Ko-Sa Beach had begun.

We discovered that two mysterious saboteurs were hiding among us. Two people from our own group who, over the coming days, would try to disrupt our investigations and prevent us from solving the puzzles surrounding the mystery of Ko-Sa Beach.

Suddenly, everyone was watching closely. Who was acting suspiciously? Who seemed a little too innocent? And who could we actually trust?

Our first evening missions called for quick thinking, teamwork and sharp observation. We shared theories, compared notes and tried to interpret the first clues. Naturally, it did not take long before we had our first suspects. Whether we are on the right track or the saboteurs are already cleverly leading us astray will become clear over the next few days.

After so many adventures, exciting games, plenty of exercise and countless new impressions, our energy finally ran out. It was time for bed.

Our first day has been full of shared experiences, laughter, movement and discoveries. We have already experienced so much, played together and mastered our first challenges.

Now we are curious to see what tomorrow has in store. What new adventures await us? Will we solve more puzzles? And might we even manage to uncover the first saboteur?

To be continued … the mystery of Ko-Sa Beach is still far from solved.
