Language Discovery and Creative Poetry
At the beginning of the week, reading comprehension took centre stage for the German as a Foreign Language (DaF) learners in Grades 7/8. During a lively question-and-answer session, students asked each other questions about texts they had previously studied, demonstrating how well they had understood the content. The activity was not only about knowing the correct answers but also about listening carefully, responding accurately, and expressing ideas clearly.
The students then worked on two projects simultaneously. While one group continued developing and refining their poems for the upcoming Cultural Festival, the other created educational posters illustrating grammatical rules in a clear and accessible way.
Building on these activities, the students strengthened their grammar skills through a variety of learning stations. The focus was on forming indirect questions and understanding adjective endings in the nominative and accusative cases. At different stations, students explored grammatical rules, analysed examples, and consolidated their knowledge through targeted exercises.
Throughout the week, creative expression went hand in hand with focused language practice. Students expanded their vocabulary, strengthened their understanding of grammatical structures, and continued preparing to showcase their language skills creatively at the Cultural Festival.
