More Than Football – Petra Landers as a Role Model

In their Ethics lessons, our Grade 5 students explored the topic of “role models” and focused in particular on the question of which female role models can be found in football.

At the centre of their work was former football player Petra Landers. The class looked closely at her sporting journey and her commitment to supporting girls in football, creating a creative “Then and Now” poster collage along the way. The students also learned how strongly Petra Landers is committed to inspiring girls to take up football and to giving them greater access to the sport.

We are therefore especially pleased to welcome Petra Landers to the German International School Accra tomorrow as part of “Faces of Football”. Together with her, some of our female students will take to the pitch, gain new experiences and discover how much joy, team spirit and self-confidence football can inspire.

It promises to be a special day dedicated to empowering girls, building confidence and being active together – and we are very much looking forward to it.
